Not to Expectations

I like the look of this coffee maker- and the removeable water tank (no water to spill while filling). It brews relatively fast, coffee tastes good, but no automatic shutoff!! The on/off switch feels flimsy and the entire base the pot sits on gets VERY HOT- (not just the warming plate, but the whole bottom, too). I'll be returning and keep looking....

Could have been a 5 star coffee pot

I fell in love with this coffee maker the moment I saw it and continued to like it for the next few days. Very quickly I noticed two design flaws. First, near the top of the unit opposite where the water comes out, there is small pocket that collects a lot of water. This water eventually overflows and drips behind the plastic holder that holds the coffee and falls onto the hot pad when you remove the pot. Second, the glass pot itself is seriously flawed in its design. The lid is made of metal, which is a pleasant addition, but the neck is plastic and unable to to sustain the weight of the lid for very long. Mine snapped after about two months. Another problem with the glass pot is that when you pour out the coffee, no matter at what angle, the coffee runs down the side of the pot creating a small puddle of coffee on the counter each time you pour. A third flaw with this coffee maker took about four months to discover. This maker brews coffee extra hot but after four months, the intense heat or steam has caused the chrome paint on the top lid (where you add the coffee) to chip away. Overall, the pot was wonderfully conceived but evidently was released without thorough testing beforehand. The appearance and European design touches are appreciated but unfortunately are not enough to recommend this coffee maker.

Beautiful coffeemaker

I loved the way this coffee maker fit in with my decor! My only complaint is that when you pour coffee out of the carafe, it drips back and you can't avoid coffee on your counter. Very annoying. If this annoys you, don't buy this coffee maker. I overlook low tech for decor.
