best coffee maker around!

By far the quickest (about 1.5 min to brew pot) and best coffeemaker to date I think. It's durable and the directions make the initial set up a breeze. Worth the money if coffee is a serious part of your morning routine!

These coffee pots really do make a great pot of coffee. The water is already heated and as long as you follow the directions on how much coffee to use, tastes as good as coffee you'd get in a fine restaurant.

Great coffee maker, but does it really make Tim Hortons at home?

I am not a coffee snob. I can tolerate most coffee (Like Dunk Donuts), but there's something about Tim Hortons that keeps me coming back. I have been enjoying Tim Hortons coffee for several years. I am now moving out of state in the near future, and my new home will be 3+ hours from the nearest location. Can you believe I almost based my move on how close the nearest Tim Horton's is? (Please note I said "almost" so I am not that crazy.) Regardless I started searching Google how to make Tim Hortons at home. I bought their fine grind coffee before, but it never tasted the same as the restaurant in a normal drip coffee maker or a french press. I had thought the coffee they use in store is different. When searching Google I stumbled across this maker, which had a couple positive reviews. One review said making a full pot gives it that Timmy's flavor.Ive made partial pots and full pots, and both have tasted very similar to me. The full pot did have a little better flavor, but I think that's because more flavor is being extracted since there is more water passing through the grounds. Flavor changes based on how much coffee you use. I have tried different amounts of coffee (1 tbsp - 2 tbsp) per cup of water (8-10oz mug), and have found that 2 tbsp gives it the best taste. For a full 46oz pot I recommend 10 level tbps of coffee as recommended on the can.So does it taste just like Tim Hortons? Yes and no. I normally drink a large double double, which is two creams and 2 sugars. The other reviewer is right about the 18% cream. Most fast food places use 18% milkfat cream. This can also be called table cream, coffee cream, or 18% cream. It can be a real pain to find in the store. Only a couple stores by me sell it, and it's $1.70 a pint, which is pricey. Not sure if it's the same for everyone else, but the quality and flavor of coffee can vary from each Tim Hortons location. Some are good on average, and there are a couple that are always bad. Once in a while I get that cup of coffee that has amazing flavor. I don't know how or why that happens, but it just does. This coffee maker will make a good cup of coffee that tastes like Tim Hortons. It's not the amazing cup I get on a rare occasion, but it is very good. I decided to do a comparison of this maker vs coffee from an actual Tim Hortons. I bought a black coffee from Tim's and then brewed coffee in this machine. I used the same cream and sugar in both cups and did a blind taste test (labeled the coffee on the bottom of the cup). My wife and I both chose the coffee we made at home. The coffee from the restaurant wasn't the best we had, but it was average. The coffee maker will brew a full pot in 2-3 minutes. It does this because the tank in the back is heating the water all day long. My initial concern is how much electricity is it using? I only use the pot in the morning, so it seemed like a waste to me. I was thinking of turning it off every day, but I am going to see if it has any affect on my electric bill. If the pot is off, it takes about 15 minutes to get the water pre heated in the storage tank. There is a vacation switch on the side to turn that off, and the switch in the front is the heater to keep the decanter hot.If you want Tim Hortons coffee at home, then this is a great option. If you are not familiar with it, then it's still a great coffee maker. It's very fast and makes a great cup of coffee regardless of what grounds you use. If you have any questions, post it in the comments and I will answer them for you.
