The coffee pot itself works if you plug it into a standard 120v ac wall outletLess wattage items work with the inverter (although my 400w inverter powers higher wattage items than this 800w)If you plug the coffee pot into the included inverter, it trips it immediately and will not power the coffee maker, which is the entire point of the inverter/coffee maker 'package'.FINALLY....... They send a 800w inverter, and the coffee pot is 850w. Perhaps THIS is the problem?Makes the mind wonder....
