I've owned an earlier version of the Hot-Shot Beverage Maker for eons, and it still works well after all these years. My husband and I prefer it to the automatic kettle we tried because it's so much faster; even with heating two batches of water if we need more than it holds, it's still faster and more convenient for us. We traveled with it and an assortment of instant foods back when we could afford gas for road trips. We bought a second one for my in-laws' cabin, have given several as gifts, and been asked by friends where they can get one. It's more expensive than I think something like this should be, but I like it so well it's worth it.

The Hot Shot water heater is great for making hot beverages. I purchased it for my office where we use it daily, but there is one flaw. We use 12 oz. cups and they don't fit properly under the dispenser. I ordered the 16 oz. Hot Shot machine and the water dispenser is slanted downwards therefore, making it hard to place the cup under it. The dispenser should be a little higher to accommodate the 12 oz. cups. this is the third time I have bought one of these for a family member. My family really loves the quick convience of this little gizmo. None of us are coffee drinkers so making a hot drink on a cold winter night it either hot tea or hot chocolate and this fits the bill easily. Sure, you could put a cup in the microwave but isn't that a little over-kill?? Simple, well made, and fun to have around.
